There is plenty to Do starting from Sandend…
The coastline is spectacular with excellent walks towards Cullen and Portsoy. Sunnyside beach shown above is between Sandend and Cullen.
Distillery tours
The distillery at the end of the beach, Glenglassaugh, not longer does regular tours, but they have some nice footage of Sandend. There are many more that can be visited.

Sandcastles
Golf
Cullen Links is nearest. Strathlene has pitch and putt and a driving range.
A range of locally sourced food teas and coffees. The old Kirk in Fordyce and Aspire in Portsoy are also local favourites.
Dolphins
Dolphins pass the bay regular.y Easier to spot if it is calm. To get a closer look consider a trip to Spey bay or Chanonry point.
Surfing
Jump in when the surf arrives, or watch the experts.
Fish and Chips
Try Hook Line and Sinker in Portsoy or do a full survey including Linda’s in Cullen and the award winning Fochabers Fish bar.
Body boarding
Fresh Fish
For fresh and custom smoked fish visit Messrs Smith in opposite the beach car park. For a full selection of shellfish try Seafield seafoods in Cullen or Downies in Whitehills
Spey Bay
Visit the Scottish Dolphin Centre at Spey Bay.
Rockpooling
Take a jump
Jumping into the harbour is popular in summer. Check the tide is in first!
Mountain Biking
Moray monster trails near fochabers is good for cross country riding, DH farm in Portsoy for jumps, many local trails including a new purpose build trail centre at Tarland.
Snorkelling
When the water is clear jump in an explore the kelp beds and swim in shoals of sandeels.
Birds
Sea birds including gannets, razorbill, guillimot, black guillimot, red throated diver, shag, long tailed duck, eider, oyster catch, redshank, turnstone, purple sandpiper, sandwich turn, fulmar, kittiwake are all regular visitors to the bay. Onshore, yellowhammers, skylark, whitethroat, sand martins and swallows let you know its summer.
Bin of Cullen
Walk through the forrest to the top and get a great view. Use walkhighlands to find walks anywhere in scotland.
Go Fishing
Mackerel common in late summer. Fishing trips possible with guide charters in Macduff and moray firth fishing charters from Burghead. Both also do wildlife trips.
Findlater Castle
Only half a mile up the road, careful if you climb in the ruins!
